Lever guns for SW .500 and .460- interesting

Was looking through recent gun magazine and saw an ad for the Big Horn Armory Model 89 Carbine? Lever gun w 18" barrel. Made for SW .500 revolver cartridge.

Once I researched a bit I saw they offer a Model 90 Carbine lever action for SW .460 mag. WOW. I bought a SW .460 revolver and just have not taken it out ever. But I did stock up on Hornady 200 gr FTX .460 ammo-- I don't reload so was back in the days when single and made more money! 300 rds just sitting in safe.

I see my SW 8 3/8" revolver as more of a novelty gun- bought on impulse and never see myself hunting w it and been sitting in my safe unused a few yrs.

But a lever action 18" carbine for it??!! Now that really peaked my interest.

Only downside is hefty price tag- msrp $2800 for the lowest model- have models that go up to over $5k. That thing must have some serious stopping power. At least at short distances.

Too bad so expensive. I love the idea of having a 18" rifle/carbine to shoot my .460's out of. Anyone see these in LGS ever? Thanks.

Sell me your .460 revolver. Problem solved. It's just wasting away in your safe.

Another option is to get a TC Encore. Since it's a single shot, there's no action to increase rifle length, so it feels super short and handy.

And it can use 454s and 45 Colts if you want to tone things down.

I've got one...and one of these days I'll take it to the range and shoot it.

I used to own two model 89's but now only have one. Built like a brick sh*t house - all stainless, accurate, the best big bore lever gun out there in my humble opinion.

I want one too. one in each caliber, 500 & 460. I love me some 45/70, I currently own 7 and a 450 marlin but those 89 are awesome.

The only thing that would make them better would be if a takedown option existed like the Co-pilot from WWG.

I shoot the .500 S&W Magnum in a H&R Handi-Rifle. I also have a an extra bbl for the same receiver chambered in .45-70 Govt. Makes for a very versatile big-bore single shot rifle.

That Big Horn Armory Model 89 sure is a beauty though and I'd love to have one.

The Big Horn Armory Model 89 has been on my wish list for 4 years. As soon as my son is out of college.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

My coworker just got his 500 and 460 matched set to go with his revolvers. I haven't seen them yet but he loves them.

Just picked up my Model 89 today. Yes the price is hefty but there handmade and built like a tank. I see watermelons being vaporized this weekend

Just talked to my coworker. He has shoulder issues right now so no shooting them for a while. Also said fit and finish is phenomenal.

                              Doesn't Rossi make a 92 in .454?

Probably get some serious muzzle energy out of that handy little platform.
