Anybody have recent experience with this line of ruger's?

Thinking about getting one in .223 for a cheap hunter/plinker

Can get one on gunbroker for $360 and it'd be well under $400 otd. 22" barrel and a 1/8 twist sounds interesting

They supposed to be pretty solid budget rifles.

I own an American in 30-06 and it is very accurate. Never had a problem with it.
I have shot quite a few Ruger Americans at the range sorting out scope and or shooter problems. Every one of them were shooters except a few that had crap/bad scopes on them.

They are a lot of gun for the price.

Dad got one in 308, same solid build quality as his standard American. The barrel profile is a little heavier, not sure if that's caliber specific though. Really impressed with the American rifles, would have a few myself if I wasn't set with rifles that are sentimental to me.
