Ruger GSR in 450 Bushmaster

As a cautionary note most 45ACP bullets will not be suitable to be loaded in 450 Bushmaster as their velocity ratings are far to low, especially for hunting game animals. Typical 45 ACP jacketed bullets will/could have jacket separations.I'm buying one. I reload. 450 Bushmaster basically uses the same bullet size as 45 ACP. Can use it with Trailboss and shoot it all day.
Straight wall case... less case growth. Less/no trimming needed.
Since it is a bolt rifle can usually load it long.
2500fps with a 250 grain bullet out of a 16" barrel... 3,470 ft/lbs. All the power I need?
Capable ~1.25" groups at 300 yards?
Good enough for me.
While the bolt gun will allow you to load the 450 to MAP pressures and above with out the functional issues associated with them in the AR your brass live is going to suffer - expect head separation with Hornady brass.
You are still going to have to trim brass to a consistent crimp, this will be especially true if planning to run near at the cartridges limit.
Your brass (all cartridges) doesn't lengthen as a result of shooting it lengthens as result of resizing- if you doubt this just check it before and after you shoot and before and after sizing.
be safe

Another cautionary note that you no doubt already know is that Ruger is known to hand out "special" guns to online reviewers. 2 round group not withstanding (or 6 round if you consider it a 6 round, which is not unreasonable), the fact is if it was really a 1.25" gun at 300 it would be a more precise gun than the RPR!
Again, you probably already know this, but my bet is that 1.25" is a "2 round group done one time in front of the camera", or the gun is a special hand worked model sent for online review.Comment
