Howa 1500 HCR 6.5

Hello folks! I'm thinking of purchasing this rifle
for my wife and kids. I've heard many good things about the Howa 1500. Who is the barrel maker, barrel accuracy, two stage trigger feel/pull?

I own 2 Howa's, .30-06 and mini action 7.62x39, both are Howa made barrels and both are very accurate, triggers are 2 stage and feel very crisp, pull is about 2 lbs but I have not confirmed that, the gun is very well made and machined, with a proper break in, the accuracy will be sub MOA at 100 yards, well worth getting one.

Like was said "with a proper break in" which means shoot the darn thing but do not let the barrel get so hot that you cannot hold it in your hand.
When you are done shooting you may want to clean it and if you do not it is fine. It probably should be cleaned after about 200-500 rounds or so. It will shoot very well doing this. Any other procedure is a joke and only good for 1) wearing out barrels faster 2) a feel good approach 3) and most important not having you get the barrel too hot from constant firing and damaging the throat in particular.

I purchased a Howa 1500 in 223, they are built very well, feels nice and solid in the hands, very accurate.
The bolt action is soooo smooth, I tried the Savage Axis and hated the 'two-step' action.

I have a Howa 1500 mini action barreled action in a MDT LSS chassis in 6.5 Grendel. I also have a Howa 1500 barreled action in 6.5 Creedmoor I haven't built out yet.

The Grendel is shooting approximately 1/2 MOA groups during barrel break-in with basically factory ammo.

This setup is prefect for the OP's needs. The 6 position AR tube gives a very adjustable LOP and the 6.5 Grendal would be almost no recoil.

OP, Brownells sells Howa barreled actions. Then you can get that chassis from MDT.

I followed Howa's break-in recommendations and I'm not sure if they are entirely necessary, but they can't hurt. The 5 shoot group I posted was shot during break-in, FYI...
