I recently picked up this Remington 760 .30-06 from a fellow Calgunner. It was made in 1975 and was a nostalgia buy as I had one like it of the same year bought new when I lived in Western Pa. many years ago (41 to be exact)
This one is like all 760s that I've owned, bolt action sporter accurate for the first 5 rounds or so and then opens up by a couple of inches as soon as the thin barrel gets hot. Still and all, it shoots nice pyramid shaped three shot groups at 100 yards shooting Korean PS M2 ball that can be covered by a .25 piece - when cold.

I have another, a 1961 made carbine in .30-06 that is about as accurate and does the same thing with a hot barrel. The rate of fire is pretty impressive with this one as long as your shoulder can stand it. Not the rifle for those who have marginal shoulders. Lots of fun and a serious game getter or mountain carbine.
