    Cz 527 carbine, worth it?

Hey guys I'm looking for a light/compact bolt action rifle, mainly in .223 for plinking and punching paper. I came across the cz 527 and love the looks and reviews I've seen on YouTube, price is a little steep but I know Cz makes a quality product. I just want to know if you guys have other preferences or have any experience with the 527. Any suggestions help guys!

I have the 527 Varmit in .223, and it's a tack driver. Very nice gun.

I have one and like it a lot.

Super accurate and easy to carry and move around.

Top quality all the way around. It's worth the money. To me anyway.
It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.

        On my short list

Handy little guys with a reputation for accuracy. The 7.62X39 would make a dandy deer rifle.

My friend has one. We went to spencville years ago. Like he said - tack driver!

I offered to buy it from him but he said no. Good decision on his part.

I have a 527 carbine in 7.62x39. It is my favorite rifle to shoot. Well worth the money. I am buying another in .223 later this year.

$600 isn't that steep in bolt guns. Thats really cheap actually.

if CZ is too expensive, HOWA is an alternate. they offer a mini action in 223 and 762x39 as well. but going by BUDs pricing, they don't sound all that less than a CZ.

BUT, you might be able to get a short action in 223 for a lot less.

my two cents...IF you really want the CZ, and it is more than you can afford right now, be patient and save until you afford it.

I have a 527 Carbine and it's awesome. The set trigger is sweet when I'm punching holes in paper. It's short and having irons for back up is another bonus

I have a 527. It was my first long gun I bought and I will NEVER sell it. As mentioned above it is a tack driver, with a great set trigger.

I put a leupold on top and even with my old bad eyes I can hit a bottle cap at 100 yards. Cannot do that with any of my other long guns.

You made a good choice. To be honest, the rifle is a max a 200 yard rifle. It is pretty handy and you can't beat a Mauser action.

Why is it a 200 yard max rifle?

make sure it has fast twist like 1:9 and not 1:12.
if 1/12 then you can only shoot light bullets.
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Well, it has a pretty short barrel and is pretty light weight for starters. The .223 version will reach out a bit farther I think but my 7.62x39 really opens up beyond about 200 yards with commie ammo.
