    Remington 5R in 223

Does anyone here have any experience with this rifle in 223? I know Remington had the 5r as late as early 2016.

Any comments on this rifle in 223 would be appreciated.

I have one. . fun to shoot. Added a DBM and i reload for it. Shoots 52g like a laser.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I had one and loved it, but ultimately didn't keep it long. I kept mine stock, found it for a good price online, scoped it, fired off some handloads at 600 yards, it was cool. It's a pretty proven system.

Very accurate out of the box. Great training rifle and a good way to use up surplus 223 loads.

What's the twist rate on the factory 223 barrel?

I have one as well. Base stock, I could never get it to shoot as accurate as I wanted (~1.0 MOA at 100y). As soon as I put it into and XLR chassis, it was shooting 1/2 MOA on average at 100 yards. Lot of fun to shoot.

Very good rifles. As mentioned, barrel is a 9tw which allows you to shoot 69 grainers although some have have barrels that could handle heavier ones as well. Had mine out to almost 900 yards with 69gr SMKs (Pala used to go out to 887 yds) and everything in-between. Easily a sub-MOA rifle.

I had one with a cut down barrel - shot ok, but really never amazing somewhere around 1/2 MOA with my better hand loads
