    Magpul Hunter 700 Stock

I've been thinking about upgrading the stock on my Remington 700 SPS Tactical. I am not a huge fan of the Houge stock. Anyone have any experience with the item below?

I've read some pretty good things about it.

I don't have any direct experience, but have read from other shooters here on CG that it depends on your firearms anticipated use... I think technically speaking the standard 700 stock is more rigid, so if going for prone / prs type use then its a downgrade. If looking for a lightweight hunting stock then seems OK. I like how it looks though.

I've held one, it feels great, and with the modular design, adding cheek height, LOP, and a DBM at the price is very attractive. However, I found the forend to flex still. I shoot with a bi-pod 99% of the time, that would not work well.

If you willing to spend a little more money, check out Grayboe stocks. $350 for a full resin stock already inletted to fit a DBM.

The magpul stock is not much of an upgrade it's just a magpul branded plastic stock.

It's going to be more rigid than the rubbery Hogue stock that has no bedding block in it.
So um... moon labia or something.

imagine that...a magpul product that is branded as a magpul product.

OP, this maybe a bit more helpful in deciding if you want to try the Magpul hunter stock or not

MAGPUL is a well known shooting accessory company founded in 1999 by former United States Marine, Richard Fitzpatrick.  The original products were called MAGPULs, rubber loops attached to the botto…

That's not a bad review although I would have preferred some additional groups for each loading. I have one of these stocks on my Rem SPS 300 BLK and like it for what it is, which is a decent entry level semi tactical stock that is marketed for hunting vs. long range sub MOA shooting.

A machined bedding block that extends further forward at least to the bipod mounting area would probably help alot although it would certainly add more weight and drive the price up.

From my research, its a good stock. Shooters have consistent groupings with their hunter compared to the HS Precision stocks, so the Hunter is a gtg stock.

I was not talking about USED, anything can be had used for less than new. For what the Magpul stock is it really is hard to beat in it's price point.

I just shot one of the Hunter 700 Remington factory guns in 260... not impressed with that one either.

                              I'd agree there
