    Ambi Bolt action

I been toying with the idea of an ambi bolt action. Being that Im a lefty, I cycled the bolt for RH action fine without a scope. However, since changing my hog hunter to the lwss chassis, I decided to put a scope on. This left me with my right hand cycling the bolt and for quick follow up shot i cant do it well because my hand comes up to my face as I cycle the bolt.

I got a spare bolt and I decided to drill and tap a stubby handle to use my left hand if needed. So far, its working good. This is my prototype. Lmk what you guys think for improvements? Thanks:

You could just get a LH Bolt gun.

Of course, but why do that when I already have a rifle?

I'm a lefty too, but I've only shot right handed guns, all my guns are right handed, a lefty gun would feel wrong to me........

True, i like RH rifles because I can see the chamber when shouldered. That added with what you said, i cant see myself getting a left handed gun.

It's...interesting. Looks a little hard to manipulate though.

Perhaps you already considered changing the LOP and scope position?

As a lefty, I have always found follow up shots faster on an RH bolt gun due to not having to break my firing grip. I have zero experience with that chassis so maybe that is a limiting factor.

            I can't say I don't like the concept though.

It would be Great if they made a bolt system similar to my Pellet gun, I have a Weihrauch/Beeman HW100TFSB .20 cal PCP, it has a flip out cocking mechanism.

There are toggle action rifles out there. There was a 10/22 toggle action clone. Don't think they are made any more though.

^ I would have to sell the entire gun and chassis which I got the chassis for an excellent price.

I have a second version in mind. I think I may have made it better one with more leverage, we'll see how it turns out.

If you got the chassis for an excellent price, that makes it easier to sell.

Yeah it does, but i wont find another for that price to get a lefty. I been looking but no bueno. Besides, im use to shooting right handed guns, just this setup with a scope, I needed to cycle the bolt from a different angle. Remove the scope or use a scout scope, i would perfer RH action over LH.

I hate to say this because it goes against all proper scope setups, but maybe using taller scope rings might make it easier to cycle the bolt, not the best thing for accuracy but it may not affect it that badly.

I like it. If the rifle is on a bipod/bag then you can cycle it without moving the trigger hand (for righties).
