Personally I don't like to break my muzzles but to tame recoil I like to use a muzzle brake. -

I have a custom brake on an old Ruger 7mag and BOSS Systems on two rifles. Really takes the sting out of target shooting. I can shoot a 7mag for hours wearing a T-Shirt.Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. Robert J. Hanlon
