Barrett 98B .308?

Was looking through an old/2015 gun magazine and saw ad for this Barrett 98B Bolt Action-- available in .300 Win Mag, .308, .260 and 6.5C.
Price bit steep around $3700, just wondering if anybody had any experience w these- owns one or shot one, or seen one!

Looking for a .308 bench rifle. So far RPR or taking my brand new Rem 700 AAC out of safe and starting on that then building up are my other options.

Build the Remington... 3700 for a standard caliber is nuts. For 3700, the Remington would take itself to the range, run the match, then drive home, all while you watched a football game rofl

Yeah $3700 for an out of the box 308, no thanks. You can have a much nicer custom built around a Defiance action for less. Hell you could probably fit some quality glass in as well and still come out cheaper.

I have the 98B Tactical in 300 win mag. Current price seems to be between $4,000-$4,400 on GB.

I like it. I have a NF NXS, Atlas bipod, and an Accu shot monopod on it. Does what I want it to do. Looked at custom builds and it would've cost about the same, but would've taken 4-6 months.
