timney trigger slamfire when tilted up.

So i just installed a Timney 517 on my Remage setup...the trigger is adjusted to 2lbs...so when cycling "normally" meaning pointed down range and not slamming the bolt it works fine....when the rifle is pointed up and I slam the bolt forward it slamfires...but not when point down range.

    any suggestions?

Yes it's not adjusted properly. Most likely your sear engagement and or pull weight is not adjusted properly. You have it adjusted so there is very little or no spring pressure on the trigger. When you tip it up gravity is acting on the trigger and not allowing the sear to engage. Spring pressure on the trigger will keep gravity from interfering.

To check this take the bolt out of the rifle. Now pull the trigger, can you feel spring pressure in the trigger? If so add a little more sear engagement.
