If Remlin hasn't cleaned up their act, stay away from this rifle. Mine was a piece of crap out of the box. I wish I had done more research before buying it 4 years ago. Remlin fixed a few items when I sent it back but now it sits pretty much useless until I get around to fixing it myself. Yes, I should have kept sending it back until they made it right.

Pretty cool looking lever rifle, except for the rail on it.

I bought a new in the box 336C (from 2013) last month. Fit and finish is pretty good. It functions perfect. I didn't know about about the Remlin issues until I was in my 10 day wait. Maybe I just got lucky.

Riflegear has these in stock..on the wall.

I am not a fan of Remlins. I've heard mixed reviews. Some good, some not so good. I have one remlin in 30-30 as a trunk gun....cheap but works.

Same rifle used in the latest Jurassic Park movie....haha.

I do love JM marked Marlins.

            Be well

I bought an SBL 6 months ago and ran about 300 rounds through it with no issues. I was very impressed on how accurate it shot out the box with just the iron sights. I was able to blow up a watermelon at 100 meters on the first try. I think the new ones should be good to go. This was my first lever action and that 45-70 is a blast to shoot.

Yeah a few years back i got my first lever and was scared to try a Remlin the first time around based on all the bad things i heard. I decided on a Henry and haven't looked back. I now prefer the tube fed. I loaded up and shot the whole tube while my buddy was still loading his '94.

I see Buds shows the blued Guide Gun for $539.00. I have one and that seems the better deal than the stainless version costing $300.00 more. Add an XS scope base & sights and you're there. To each his own of course.

The GG with factory loads is nice shooting, reloading wakes you up a bit.

Skinner sights are the best for these IMO. I have a set on my 336 and love them.

Quite a mess they went through. Between this, and all the bad reviews, I know I'm only going to be buying those that are marked "JM".

Take a look at the current Mossberg 464's.

I bought one a short time ago. There are a few bad reports but after a lengthy amount of research I found it was very few actual bad reports so I figured I'd try one. The one I got is excellent! Its the standard model 464 with straight wood stock and 20" round barrel. It's pretty much a clone of the 94 with some updates.

The biggest change is that the receiver is aluminum but I love that about it, it's light weight and has a very smooth action.

I looked hard at the current marlin 336's and just couldn't accept the crappy fit and rough action. The 464 looks like it costs 2x to make but it costs about 25% less to buy. It's worth a look!
