    Cz 527 in 223

I pick it up in ten days, the varmint,

Since it will be used to shoot paper only out to 200 yards.

I now need a scope, any suggestions ?

I would like to keep it around 300.00 or lower.

Or do you have one for sale?? In northern calif..

    Thanks

    One to look at.

There is a 10% off coupon on the website.
Or signup for emails and maybe get a better price for Xmas.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
    I'm Back.

Congrats on the Purchase Gate, The CZ 527 in Varmint is a great little rifle, and .223 is a great little cartridge. Expect fun times ahead. My first CZ 527 was a Varmint .223, and the thing just flat out works. I mostly use high end glass on my rigs, however on a couple of them, I run this optic, which although perhaps just a bit above your suggested price point, would be great for a 200 yard rifle: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/13...ope-4-12x-40mm

A Nikon Buckmaster or Vortex Diamondback should work out really good for you. Although in different models, I have both brands and like them very much.

Check out Sightron. Scopes. I recently bought the Sightron S-Tac and it is a great value.

If you can afford it, the SIII series is even better.

Buy a Weaver K4 or K2.5 either from them or off ebay and have them refurb it and put in the reticle you want. It'll look the part, function well and be cheaper than anything else. It's 200 yards after all.

                      Do the flush mag modification.
weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?

You already got the cz so get good glass.
Buy once cry once. At least a VX2 3-9 or 4-12. I like my Nikon monarch scopes a lot.. If vortex, at least a viper or better.
You don't need bdc for that close. Maybe fine cross hair?
Also for your rings. Get a pair of oem tikka rings for cheap. They worked on my 527 carbine . For some reason cz rings are super high. All I had to do was knock a pin out from the rings.
Here is a pic of cz rings vs tikka.
I have a 3-9 Burris on my 223 tikka and with dials and my AR has the Nikon p223 3-9

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

I also have the CZ527 Varmint in .223.
For my set-up I used 16mm Warne Maxima high permanent rings. And for a scope, I used a Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x40AO with a target dot reticle.

There is a huge talk now about a new player on the scope field, Athlon optics.
According to the reviews it is much better than most, definitely better than Nikon, vortex etc with life time warranty for 1/3 of the price. Check them out:
All Athlon rifle scopes are waterproof, fogproof, and include a lifetime warranty at no cost to you. Our scopes are sharp, tight, and priced just right.

I'm gong to order one for my 223 hunting rig
For advanced, high end hunting scopes, check out our Argos 2-10x40 BDC 600 scope. These scopes have features normally only found on high-end scopes.

Guys on 24 who tested them out have nothing but good things to say.
