I recently got 2 magpul aics mags for a good deal. Sadly, it is not working right. It feeds ok from about the first few rounds but after that I think its sitting to low because it causes the next round to nose dive into the chassis. Then at times it shoves the bullet up too high to go into the chamber smoothly. So sad. Anyone know of fixes for this besides throwing them way? haha. i would like for them to work. Thanks!

I think in this situation, it's more important to know cartridge as opposed to caliber.
Also, what stock or chassis system?

Some guy was saying he has problems in a MDT Chassis on Midway:
I purchased two of these to work with my Savage Model 10 FCP-SR with a Modular Driven Technologies (MDT) TAC-21 Chassis. I'm comparing these to the MDT 10-round polymer mags that work flawlessly.
When unwrapping them they had the typical Magpul look and finish. If it was just that, I would have given these 5 starts. Putting the .308 rounds (2 snap caps) went in smoothly. Plenty of room to load out past 2.80 in. as compared to the MDT mags which was my motivation for these. Taking them apart was easy and come apart like their AR mags. Unfortunately, this is where the good ends on these mags for my set-up.
When putting them into the MDT chassis, the mags did not slide in smoothly. I'm going to need to sand off the area the magwell covers in order for them to pop in and out similar to Magpul's AR mags for my AR's. When looking at the top of the mags, they are wider then the typical AICS mags and I had to trim on the edges in order for the mags to 'click' in and stay connected. Without trimming, the mags would be too tall and hit the Savage receiver.
Would I recommend them to a friend, yes, but only if they are able to confidently trim the mags to fit their specific rifle.
I have yet to take the to the range, but will update once I get out to use them with live fire.Comment

Anytime I ever had a feeding issue it was user error.
Insert the magazine straight up into the chassis. It would still "click" in place if I inserted it at a slight angle which would later cause a failure to feed the second or third round. I figured that out after I'd remove the magazine and insert it straight up and in.
This coming from someone that owns several AICS magazines and a KRG Whiskey chassis and MDT Tac 21 chassis -

Humm. It sucks to know that it has to go in correctly in order for it to work. I will gove it a try tomorrow. See if it goes away. I doubt it though. The mag has some play in it when inserted into the magwell.Originally posted by GottmitunsIt's not protecting the rights of the 1%, it's IMPOSING new laws because of the 1%.Comment

I use the metal ones more often for that reason; plus being 5-rounders I tend to go through ammo at a slower pace.

I think i solved the problem.
I took out the springs on the mags and streatched it out a tad further. Made loading the 10th rd harder but not nearly as hard as a new XD mag or something of that sort. After that, i did about 30 cycles and no issues. A new one did pop up though. The mag doesnt fall free so I would have to grind some material off to get it fall free.Originally posted by GottmitunsIt's not protecting the rights of the 1%, it's IMPOSING new laws because of the 1%.Comment
