scope base for savage short action

I am having a tough time finding a steel scope base, I did find this. I don't know much about this company. I have heard TPS alot on here but can't find one to fit my application.

Is this sufficient?

And what model of TPS steel rings do most use?
I need 30mm, I have seen quite a few different models
and can't make heads or tails of which to choose.

As far as TPS rings, I have owned them and personally don't like them. I may just be retarded, but of all the scope rings I have installed none gave me as much trouble as their system did where you tighten down one side first and then the other for proper reticle alignment. I also purchased a steel variant and learned first hand just how easy it is to scratch up an aluminum scope tube.

If you go TPS, I would recommend the aluminum flavor. Height is going to depend on how big of a lens is on your scope, but "medium" is typically a good place to start.

If you are still looking for alternative options I can confidently suggest Seekins Precision rings as I have had the best experience with them.

They aren't cheap but the quality is very good.

The Ken Farrell bases mentioned by the 2015 National Champion our own SwitchBarrel are also made of steel.
He is to busy to post alot but his posts are always spot on.

On my Savage 10fp .308, I used a Ken Farrell 15 MOA mount (steel) with Warne Maxima QD rings (steel). Very sturdy & pretty much bullet proof.
I've used the same set-up on two more rigs for my son & a nephew with never a problem.
I was tought to use steel against steel where rings & mounts were concerned.

I use a Ken Farrell G-Force base (20 MOA) and Seekins rings that have been great with no problems.

I should be getting my DNZ mount today. I have a steel picatinny on my Model 10 and tried the Leupold Mark 2 IMS (too Tall given the rise of the rail), then ordered the low Leupold PRWs. I like the 1 piece systems but can't find anything but aluminum. Also, can't find a single bad review on the DNZ so i figure I'll give it a shot as i like the idea of a 1-peice mount made specifically for my rifle with no lapping required.

This will mount a Leupold VX3i 4.5-14x50
