Lever gun question????

Is there an affordable (less than $700), .38spl/.357mag lever gun with a loading gate?

It seems to me that there are two distinct options: Either there are affordable lever guns in 357 and they don't have the loading gate, or there are expensive lever guns in 357 with the loading gate.

Am I chasing a unicorn here?

I am not even sure I want a lever gun, but this was something that I have noticed.

I'd try to find a browning B92, you are going to pay more than $700 but maybe not a huge amount more, and it is brilliant. The Marlin 1894 is nice, and the Rossi R92 is good too both should be in your budget.

Look at the Rossi model 92, you also might find a used Winchester or Marlin but I doubt it for your money.

I really need to go back to work. Retirement doesn't work for me.

1) Winchester model 94AE 30-30, made around 2002-2003
2) Rossi model 92 44 mag. I think I bought this one new around early 2013
3) Rossi model 92 357 mag. Bought this new late summer of 2012
4) Rossi model 92 357 mag, I bought this one early this year.
5) Henry model h001 22lr\l\s . I think I bought this around the end of 2013.

Any particular reason why you are looking for a loading gate? My Henry Big Boy Steel in 357 is a lot of fun to shoot and the action is really smooth. Not once have I thought 'wow I wish this had a loading gate.'
