    M5 Detachable Magazine Systems

Need input on which DM system CalGunners prefer on their bolt-action rifles ,the M5 Stealth DM M24 Detachable Magazine System - Remington 700 (Funnel or Flush Models) or Wyatt's ? Thanks...

Whatever you end up getting, be wary of HS Precision. They make a great composite stock, but the bottom metal with detachable magazines has been a source of frustration.

      Stay with AICS compatible setups.
Avoid Wyatts, ATI, HS and Kwik-Way magazine systems.

The choice of a flush vs extended DBM is really up to you.
The flush ones make it easier to change mags.
5 round mags also make it easier as they are shorter.
10 round mags stick down more so you need more room underneath the gun to get them in and out.
The funnel increases the amount of space you need to change mags.
Having to lift the gun off the ground or bench to change mags knocks you off target.

I install a bunch of the PTG DBM setups for people after inletting their stocks to fit the M5 pattern DBM's.

I went with Magpul's system. But that was because its a Boyds stock and I did it myself. I didn't want to experiment on a more expensive setup.

PTG is what I would go with otherwise.
