I have a couple of them and put one on a 700 Remington hunting rifle.
I don't mind 2 ounces on a hunting rifle because it's all I ever use.
Setting them up is way too complicated and mine don't have safety's. You mount them using the two pins but after that you adjust the width of the sideplates and a book load of other things to get them all dialed in.
On mine I adjusted the sideplates then sent them in and had them do the rest.

The aluminum is very soft I agree with that in totality.

Sounds like you have a different trigger than the one I tested... Mine didn't have any sort of adjustable side plate. Mine had two adjustment points: sear and pull weight. That's it.

I rather like the Timney 510. I've never felt a need for the pull to be lighter than they can go.

I really am curious about the Huber trigger.

My absolutely favorite is the 2 stage on an Accuracy International. If I could emulate that, I'd be happy as a cat in tub of milk.

Here is one of mine on a 6mm-06 deer hunting rifle. I was given two for Christmas and love them just don't want to ever adjust them.

Looks like the one I had. But you say there are a bunch of adjustment points? And somehow adjusting the side plates? Please explain. Here are the instructions that came with mine. It only outlines two things to adjust: sear and weight.

If you watch the video from Chris Harris you are only supposed to make external adjustments.
But in the video he talks about the jacking screws for removing the sideplates.
I think the Austrians set them for a neutral fit but I wanted to go sub 2 ounces without worrying about a slamfire.
Internally you can get yourself into trouble real quickly so after reaching that point I sent them in.
On a Jewell all you need to do is polish the sideplates as I described earlier and some minor polishing.
