Chassis systems are cheaper than stocks, you also don't have to worry about inletting, bedding, etc. In some you don't even have to deal with Cerakote.

Don't cut the barrel down more than necessary.

To answer straightup. Do you want the McMillen stock? If so, go that route. Or buy a Chassis from KRG and you will be good to go.

If you want the whole thing cerakoted then make sure the rings and base are with it. Have a professional do it! You can mess it up quickly and make your action go to crap... know from experience.

Why cut the barrel? 26" will give you more velocity, about 100 feet. I have a 24" and 26" I don't notice the difference really.

A good reamed barrel will shoot any grain bullet well, tough to beat the 168 SMK'S, unless you want to go past 600 plus use the 175 grainers.

When I built my rifle I had the Scope Base and magazines all cerakoted at the same time to match. I had the scope base screws enlarged to 8-40 and got a 20moa Badger Base. I went with the oversize lug because I did not want to regret it later. I had the barrel threaded for a brake/suppressor and had a thread protector made that is blended to the barrel. Have the stock (this takes the longest time) and have it all done at once. Even if you have a chassis stock, the barrel channel may need to be enlarged. As for the chamber, be careful. If it is too tight you will be limited in what brass you can use. If the brass has to be sized special for the chamber you may find yourself out of ammo far from home.
