hair trigger on fn mauser

I took my Firearms International Musketeer (FN commercial 98 action) out for the first time yesterday and was surprised by the hair trigger. I barely touched it and the round fired.

It's supposed to have a Sako trigger. Does anyone know how to adjust the trigger pull?

It may have an FN trigger on it. The best way to tell is to take it apart.

I have one of these triggers on a 98 Mauser Sporter.

Thanks for the link to the manual. I finally pulled apart the rifle and the trigger is marked "Finland" and there are only two adjustments.

I backed out the trigger weight screw adjustment but the trigger is still very light to me - kind of like my SW model 19's SA trigger.

Hare triggers are only available on dedicated rabbit hunting firearms...

Take it to a Smith and have it tested. 2# is the lightest you would want for a hunting rifle.

Yeah, I second this advice.

I like a good match trigger, but there is such a thing as too light. I have an Enfield rifle with a dangerously light trigger.....I need to replace some parts and get it back to normal.
