Weatherby Hunting Rifle

Looking for a Weatherby all purpose hunting rifle; deer, elk, bear, etc.
Thinking 308, 30-06, 300 Win. Already have a 308 heavy barrel for target shooting so I'd like to stay there if that makes sense.
What do you suggest?
Most brands are great; I just know Weatherby is very good!

For an all around big game rifle the 300 Weatherby Magnum is very tough to beat shooting a 200 grain bullet.
If you dont want to use a bullet that heavy the 300 WSM works very well with 150-190 grain bullets and is very user friendly if you reload.

The .270wby and .257wby have been used by the Weatherby Family to kill every thing that walks the Earth! If Wales were not endangered species by the mid 60's I'am sure they would have killed a few of those as well.

The 270wsm, 300wsm are no slouches either.

If you are set on a weatherby MKV then I suggest a 30-06 or 300win mag. If you do not mind the extra cost for ammo/brass the 300 Weatherby is good but my favorite is the 257Weatherby. I would also love to get the new 6.5-300 Weatherby.

If you are open to other rifles then hands down get a Tikka T3lite in 3-06. Lighter, handier to carry and shoots great out of the box. Being a light rifle I
"I" would not want a mag chambering.

I have 2 Tikka rifles, my daughter has one and I had a Vanguard(never again) and now have a Weatherby MKV(in 257Weatherby). For a cheap costing but excellent shooter I would get a Ruger American in 30-06 or 300 win mag.....I would lean toward the 30-06 in such a light rifle.

Weatherby Vanguard in 30 06. Can take any game in North America and a fine rifle to boot. Also very budget friendly.
