    Model 94

Does anyone have any experience with the new Winchester Model 94 Carbine?
I think that's the lever gun I want. It will probably end up being a safe queen that goes to my daughter. Are current production guns good to go?

Current guns for Browning and Winchester are made by Miroku, a company that has been building high quality guns since 1960's. They have been major supplier for Browning and Winchester for many years. They are uniformly of good fit and finish. Some people dislike guns made by Miroku, simply because they are made in Japan.

Miroku guns may not be as collectable

Fit and finish seem quality and Japanese Steel is as good or better than most.

I'd rather have one made by Miroku than anything made by USRAC. Anything made by Marlin in North Haven or New Haven is better than either.

Well yes, the quality is good.

For less money and also great quality you might consider a Henry steel .357
            as a fun shooter.

Marlin JM barreled Connecticut built (up to about 2009) are out there but
Some calibers are $1000 depending on the model. The most expensive being
The Cowboy Limited Editions.......really sweet Rifles.

If it's 30-30 you're wanting you can find JM Marlins without much trouble.

In answer to your question, I have a 94AE and it's a very nice safe queen. The action is still a little rough, and I doubt in it's condition it's ever been shot. I'll probably never shoot it either. Just don't have time to pull the trigger on all of them. It's scoped with a low power variable Nikon scope that goes well with the gun. It's well made, and would make a nice addition to your safe... :-)
