Any experience with a Remington Mountain SS

I'm looking into a new hunting rifle and this is one of the ones I'm interested in. Any real world experience here?

I'd go with a Weatherby Ultra lite or Kimber Montana or Ascent over the Remington, but I like nice stuff.

I have one of their first runs of non stainless rifles

Probably 1990 or so. A really, accurate, lightweight, well balanced rifle that has been great over the years.

Current manufacture I'd be wary of.

Why do people keep repeating that?
The current rifles are more dimensionally correct than the older guns.
The older guns are just more polished/deburred.
Nothing wrong with the current guns.
