Stupid feature of this place is a thread is dead after 90 days. So we can clutter up the place with more BS. Ok My turn. So I get whammied after I type this out More stupid. Read my BS.

I just shot forty rounds of 200 grain bullets in 8x57mm and it kicks like a three year old in line at Walmart. Total of 65 rounds down the tube so far. The only thing that will kick worse is the 30-06 or 300 win mag. The 9.3x62 is not easily available in the USA. My rings are still dead tight. Rock solid. Not even lock tight on the threads. Last shot, number 40, after barrel clean and 4-minute cool down dead center in a 1-inch square at 100 yards. In my opinion, my shoulder will loosen before these rings do. Just my $0.02 I have shot since 1996 and have never heard or or seen a "recoil post" in reference to scope rings or bases. Can you describe this thing ? Do you mean the post that supports the rings ? Can you post a pic of this broken feature ? Thanks !!

An Odyssey. Gunbroker then a web search. Arizona Gun Runner. If you want I can dig through old e-mails. Yeah, older than 90 days !!! At one point, total failure, I even contacted Berretta by phone and they were unable to tell me where any 8x57 was, and in January of 2016 they said their special order for next year was already sent and there was no way to order one. I almost said "$uck you" to them I was that dismayed at their lameness. I encourage anyone affiliated from Beretta to chime in here and dispute my statement. So, a 2-month internet search that ended up with gun broker. Even Cheaper than Dirt has them. Berretta doesn't know this ? Great way to run a business Pilgrim. Google 8x57 Tikka. Good luck. Great rifle by the way.

edit: there are three on GB right now, all $100 more than I paid for my woody with 22-inch barrel and the "crappy rings" Anyone, especially you "gunsmiths" that don't want your crappy Tikka rings you can PM me and I will take them, and pay shipping.

Search cal guns for Tikka pissing me off to see my rant at Berretta!

I sometimes wonder if they are in the buisness of selling firearms.

Well the nice folks at Winchester put out a 7x57.

PS every now and then Tikka flub up! It is rare. There are occasionally bad batches of rings.

Check your safety. I hear that is the current flub up!

Sorry to hear that Elven. It seems to be a common tune. Used car dealer types in a Business of selling . . . . It's the supply chain. Kinda like a Beer distributorship. Several hands to pass through. More chance for innate Human nature to $uck stuff up with greed and incompetence.

If you want a quality ring that will fit the 11mm groove Warne sells a steel ring that works great. Though my Tikka's don't have a recoil issue they get bounced around a lot and have held up well for the last 15 years.

I don't have a magnet to test my rings to see if they are ferric or aluminum. They didn't seem to be aluminum. The scope tube is aluminum. What's the benefit, actual, of having a ring that has a higher modulus or whatever property than the ring enclosing and clamping it ? I don't think aluminum is a problem here. There isn't enough force to deal with that will make any difference. It costs more than steel to process and fabricate. Why not carbon fiber then ??

Thanks AR. I don't agree with their policy obviously. This could be a great site, a better site if the wealth of knowledge was opened up for more than a look into the past via search.

The tikka recoil pad is junk. Put a limbsaver on. Made my t3 lite a totally different shooting experience.

Why not put a rail on it? I got this 20MOA rail. Then I installed Vortex precision rings. I couldn't be happier. Also installed the limbsaver and had the barrel threaded with a Holland brake. 300 win mag in a Tikka T3 Lite. Lol. I would upload a picture if I knew how.
