    Southern California rebarrel

I have a Tikka T3 that I'm looking to get barreled with a straight contour Krieger barrel. I'd like to do the job with someone local in SoCal.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a place in SoCal that can perform the rebarrel and does good work?

    Thanks!

Thanks, I have contacted a15barrels, I see he post a lot on this forum.

As a secondary question, is there a reason why Krieger sells barrels at 31 inches, or 29 inches? Do they just expect people to cut them down, and crown them?

Thats excatly it. You buy a blank and have your smith cut it to your needs.

ALL barrel blanks need to have at least 1" removed from them to remove belling at the muzzle.
So if you want a 26" long FINISHED barrel, you need a 27" (or longer) barrel blank.
Since a barrel HAS to be cut down, it can be cut down to ANY length you want (notwithstanding the 1" minimum).

Do NOT buy a barrel blank expecting to use ALL of it.
