    Got lucky today. Howa 6.5x55

Went into Sportsmans for some fishing gear. Ask the guy behind the gun counter if he can order from corporate or other stores (i knew they wouldnt have a 6.5x55 in stock) he says no. I say can I look at a howa in 6.5 creedmoor. He looks on the rack and says I have a 6.5x55. My eyes light up.

It was all dusty like its been on the shelf at least for a year. I've been to this store 2x in the last year and asked about 6.5x55 and they said they didn't have one.

Anyway i squeeze the trigger (literally) and i love it. Pay the man and go.

I know cool story but I just wanted to share with all the people who have been advising me for months. It all happened by chance.

Now I am shopping for dies and components and hopefully soon after I pick it up I will have some range reports.

It is the howa gameking 6.5x55 in green. HACT 2-stage trigger. I like it. I would go as far as to say I love it. No buyers remorse yet. Lets hope it shoots straight.

    Thanks everyone.

That is a great cartridge. If you want load data I have a bunch of it from my Tikka(probably shorter barrel) that I got over my chrono and for accuracy. All my data is with hunting bullets. PM me if you want it.

Very nice. Great low recoil cartridge. It's been used for over a century to take everything from deer to moose to bear to cape buffalo to elephant.

i think I must have some kind of swedish in my bloodline because I have wanted a 6.5x55 since i was a kid. I always wanted one of those stinkin straight pull K31's.

Divern I will take you up on that.

You must be a culturally conflicted Swede, then. The K31 is a Swiss rifle and fires 7.5x55 Swiss.

You desire a Swedish Mauser for your wood and steel 6.5x55 Swede rifle.
