    Recommendations for Cerakoting in SoCal?

    My Savage 110 HSP is on its way back from Bartlein with a new chromoly barrel, stainless APA Fat Bastard brake and stainless recoil lug. Bartlein did all the gunsmithing but the barrel, brake and lug are bare and need a finish. I need a recommendation for a good shop that can disassemble, cerakote and reassemble. Preferably in the SoCal area but I'm willing to ship.

    Recommendations for Cerakoting in SoCal?

    Bolt guns typically get ceracoated with the barrel, lug and brake fully assembled.
    It's only the bolt and trigger that you would pull off the receiver during such work.

          Get some high temperature spray paint for the barrel and action, which usually comes in muted colors. Then, use regular spray paint for the stock. A lot of guys do that, and they end up looking surprisingly good. It's inexpensive, and if you scratch it or want a new color, just repaint it.

            ^Haha there are things I can do and things I cant. Anyone who knows me keeps me at least 10' way from anything to do with paint. It seems to go everywhere but where I want it.

                  Try Wes at FSdefense. He's a nice guy and he's done some of my guns. He's a member here but he's more active in Instagram.

                    The last I heard, he is only doing pistols and short pieces now.
                    No full length bolt rifle barreled actions.

                          Thanks for the feedback and suggestions guys. I already had dropped off the parts at a local (well, relatively at least) shop.

                          Thanks for the positive feedback. I met with Bill Friday evening, his shop is legit. Here are some before photos, Bartlein Heavy straight taper 28" 1 in 9.5 5R twist with the APA Fat Bastard brake. Bartlein also replaced the Savage bolt with a PTG fluted bolt and PTG bolt face. Receiver face trued, new recoil lug, trued bolt lugs.

                          Anyway, Going with a titanium gunmetal which will match the receiver fairly well. Here are some before photos;

                          Ill post up after photos soon. Bill said said he would have it done this week! After waiting 9 months for the barrel and gunsmiths work, one more week is awesome!

                          I'm now tempted to upgrade the original HS Precision stock with something like a Manners T4 and have it Cerakoted a Desert Camo scheme.
