    First look, Mossberg Patriot.

    Folks,

Just picked my Mossberg Patriot synthetic in 7mm-08. Finish is excellent, nice and even dark gray. Barrel is a #2 or .62 inch at the muzzle wanted something that could take a bit of sustained fire.
The stock is excellent, no flex rigid and light. Barrel is completely free floated, all down the line. Trigger is excellent, just a smidge of creep 2lbs from the factory.
Barrel is 6 groove 1:9.5, clear sharp lands and grooves. The interior finish is excellent and smooth. Crown is recessed, and well protected. The barrel is also fluted, and 22 inches in length. Outstanding polymer magazine, 5 shots, feeds all rounds sure and true. Push straight down, cartridges snap right in.
I really like the bolt, light and fluted. The bolt is a Savage type with 2 locking lugs. Bolt travel is smooth and purposeful. no wobbling.
I will be going to Angeles Thursday to range test it. Report right after, A2

Haven't messed with synthetic stock model, but have the wood stocked model it was pretty good.

I just picked up my 30.06 Patriot, very nice rifle, fluted, free float, 2.5lb trigger. Can't wait to send a few down range.

On sale at Davidsons, just picked up a second.

        Folks,

Just bought another $312 at Davidsons another synthetic. 7mm-08, this rifle is just awsome for the money. The Ruger American is ok, but the stock sucks. A2

Got a pair of MOSSBERG PATRIOT/Synthetic/Vortex Scoped Combos, in .270 WIN, for my boys' first hunting rifle.

Lot of really nice rifle and glass for <$400/ea.
