    Winchester 670 Misfeeds

I've been doing some dry fire practice with my Winchester 670 (.30-06) using snap caps. This particular rifle has a 4 round internal magazine and what I believe is a blind floorplate (no metal on the bottom of the stock). The snapo cap cartridge that sits on the left side of the follower always misfeeds. Even worse, the second round on the left side that side that actually sits on the follower (round 3) sometimes pops out when I pull the bolt back to eject the "spent" #2 cartridge.

I've had this problem to some extent with live cartridges but it seem worse with the snap caps. I've also done some research and it appears others have had the same problem with this particular rifle. I'm not at all enthused about replacing this rifle because it has worked well for me in the field, but I also don't want to be worrying about misfeeds if I need a quick follow-up shot.

Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome.
