Winchester 1894 Range Report

Took my winchester 1894 out today since the rain had cleared for a bit. Shot 3 types of ammo- 150 grain Federal, 170 gr. Federal & 170 grain remington core-lokt. It liked the federal 150 grain the best. shot on paper at 25 first then 50 yards to get an idea of where it was hitting and ended up pretty impressed. Just rested the gun on a bag and lined up the sights.


Ojai Valley 25 yard target is far right, 50 yard target is the middle one.


Top group is 170 Gr. Federal with silver dollar for size and the bottom group is 150 grain federal 3 shots. at 50 yards each.

Nice, I've got one in 45 lc just started reloading for it too. There a blast to shoot. I want one in 30 30 too.

Nice rifle and nice shooting. Hard to beat a good lever action for a fun day at the range.

30-30's are a hoot. Especially when they shoot like Adam's. Nice going.
They're a great pig rifle with some good 170's.

Beautiful rifle! I have an 1892 in .44 mag and love shooting it. Never thought to shoot it resting on a bag - I'll have to try that...
