Tikka T3 Tactical vs Tikka T3 CTR vs Savage Arms 10FCP-SR

Anyone have any experience with these?

I've heard the Tactical is overpriced vs the CTR because of various reasons, but what I really want to know is if there is a barrel difference between the two guns.

I've read good things about the 10FCP-SR, but have read that in 2014 they "cheapened" it and made it suck.

Anyone have any insight into any of these rifles?

Tikka if you don't intend to alter the rifle in any way.

Savage/700 if you want to change or upgrade it later.

By the way, all three choices will shoot about the same. Tikkas have a little better fit and finish over a remington or savage.

False. There are tons of aftermarket upgrades you can do on a Tikka (but you probably won't need them).

False. The Tikka aftermarket doesnt even come close to a savage let alone a 700. Just because you can buy a bolt handle and stock doesnt mean its the same as a 700.

I was making the point that a Tikka is a fine rifle out of the box, doesnt need any upgrades. If you want to upgrade a Tikka its harder to find parts and they are more expensive on average. I never said you cant upgrade your Tikka. Its silly to think you have the same options as the more popular rifles.

You pay more for a tactical moniker yet don't always get your money's worth, steer clear it's mostly a marketing ploy.

Get a Savage 10 FCP-SR 5R 24" or if it may cost some more a Savage 10 FCP HS Precision

Other option is the Remington 700 5R Gen 2 and this one is growing one me . . .

                But . . . I am a rifle rookie !

Get the Tikka and if you tend to alter it, get the Tikka hands down. Much more options for the Tikka. I would get a KRG stock first.

As for the rifles, the barrels have different profiles, pick what you want. Basically if you get the Tikka you have a great action, then PM me and I will get you set up for a custom barrel that will make little bug holes.

Of your list the Savage is the way to go, otherwise get a Remington. Tikka is over priced.

Does the Tikka T3 Tactical have a heavier barrel than the CTR? I seriously can't find that info anywhere.

Tikka does not have nearly as many options as savage though.
                        And nothing compares to remington.

There are more parts available to customize remington 700's than all other makes/models combined.

But then you are stuck with the Remington action compared to the Tikka action...

You don't need to use a remington made action to build a 700 pattern gun.
There are 20+ companies that sell 700 pattern receivers.
