    Another Savage 99

Couldn't help it; got a deal so got another Savage 99 in .300Savage.
Early 1940's version. So now I have two; this one and a mid 1950's version. .300 Sav is a nice round. I have dies; figured would try a 150gr Speer spire point over some 4064.

Eventually I want to get on in 250-3000 too.

Really like that Mdl-99 lever action!

Congrats on your new savage! I also love lever actions but like mine with a hammer the only non hammer one I have is the Win 100 on .308 but own a uberti and Marlins and Henry's. I am only 19 so have time to buy a savage that I want but do enjoy hammer lever guns better.

Would be a nice hunter with some 110 TTSX.

OP where are you located? I can tell you where there is more
I like mine, it is in .308. Very smooth action.

Outside of Sac. I have refill the rifle fund first

I like the overall handling and the way they carry.

Do you go lighter with lead free?

Factory ammo I have bought has all been 150gr soft point(had my first Sav-99 in .300 for 20+ years, got my only hog so far with that rifle).

Midway showed some Barnes, Nosler in 150gr.

Lead free need velocity to expand. Most Barnes bullets need at least 2100 fps at impact.
