    2000 Yard Easter Match

    Shooters
I am opening a new thread because this Sunday's match is buried inside of two older threads.

For anyone wanting to reach out there and really see how far these rifles actually shoot we are holding a URSA Match this Sunday.

We will meet up at the intersection of hwy 20 and hwy 29 in the town of Upper Lake at 7:30 AM.

The match is free of charge and everyone is welcome to shoot or just watch.

We hold very friendly matches that are Shooter friendly.

At almost every match our shooters run out of ammo before they want to quit shooting.

Bring your camera and plenty of ammo.

I switched to get Easter Sunday off and I possibly might get the following week off as well, I'll find out tomorrow.

If that happens I'll probably hang with you guys Sunday morning then wander down to cache creek for a little pig hunting/camping/fishing unless somebody has a better spot.

Not sure if I'll be shooting this time. I'm contemplating having Fenton make me a rail for my AR-10 with some monster elevation. Brownells has a picatinny base that uses swappable risers. I could buy the base then have Fenton make the riser.

I'll bring my 308 rig and paperwork either way.

I have that base if it only has 3 screws in it? And one riser.

I may go turkey hunting Saturday up there it all depends on how long I take making ammo.

Yep, that's the one. Seems simple enough to have the custom riser made. I might buy one next month when I get paid and have it shipped to Fenton so he can find the spacing, etc.

As a plus I could also use it on multiple rifles as it would work on anything with a picatinny base.

Good luck with the Turkeys. I'm thinking I might go down to cache creek to scout/hunt for pigs on Monday if I've got the day off.

I've heard they're rare there but sometimes people get lucky. Either way nothing like a nice stroll in nature.

I've got 100rds of match ammo and 70rds of Barnes TTSX hunting ammo. I think it's time I put the 308 to its original intended use and harvest some swine.

Me and my shooting buddy plan on meeting you all. I'll bring the coffee pot. Hopefully a lesson in shimming will be taught.

Can't afford a new scope, as I'm trying to put together funds for Randall to build me another rifle before I leave the state.

I'm in. See you at the gas station in the morning.

If we're going to do the egg shoot, does anyone have a go-pro or similar camera to record it target side?

If someone would like to set up a camera but is afraid we will shoot it I can bring a spare gong to protect it. The gongs are 37 inches so a tri-pod can be used as well.

Question, I can't find any specifics but I'm pretty sure if someone manages to hit the egg at 2k it would be a world record. Anyone know what the current record is?

Typical egg shoots are 500-600 yards and most other disciplines either shoot for group or score.
I think our egg shoot would be like a 100-200 yard fly shoot. It's all about bragging rights.

And that's how I found out my home made riser for my AR-10 has 147 MOA built in...

Apollo, why did you shoot the tape measure? Also, have you thought about getting a 243 barrel for your AR so you can more easily get to 2k.
