    1903A3's

    Hello all,
Well I picked up another one.
My first one was passed down a few years ago. Peep sight works real good. But my eyes are only good for 50 yd.

The other day I saw this Remington on the market place. It's was already setup for a scope, for a good price.
04 bolt and aftermarket safety all clear the 3-9x40 Nikon real good and it also has a hinged floor plate.

Someone's grandpa spent some $ to sport it out. And it's a real good shooter.

I know it's wrong to sport these out, but the damage was all ready done.
So I have no problem taking these out and putting a few down range.

Nice rifles, there was nothing wrong with spoterizing those they filled a gap in history and still do today.

All of the 1903 series numbers are to the right of center on the ring, as viewed from the top. A4's were offset more to the right side to clear the scope base, and the makers name was offset to the left for the same reason. OP if you can, please post some clear detailed pictures of the bases and the bolt handle? The two piece mount is definitely not A4, but the receiver could be.

              It's defiantly not a A4.
The mounts are Weaver two piece.
The receiver does have the milled dovetail for a rear site.
But the floor plate and trigger guard is milled not stamped.

Sporting these rifles saved them from the smelter in the 50s-60s. They had little value as collectables as they do today.good score.

An A4 will still be marked A3. The s/n range will tell you if it's in the proper range to even be an A4.

A4's also have a relief for the bolt handle in the receiver rail.
