Berger SWN Equipment List - 2016

Here are the equipment lists.

Straight 284 (that is the one with the largest amount of shooters) and 284 Shehane topped the lists for F-Open.

FYI, I shot a 284 Shehane, Bat Action, Bartlein Barrel, Jewell Trigger, H4831SC powder, Lapua Barss, 180gr Berger hybrids, Masterclass Stock, Nightforce scope, Wolf Primers, SEB rest, Edgewood rear bag, Celestron spotting scope.

Lapua brass Jewell trigger Nightforce scopes and Krieger and Bartlien barrels all seem like the gold standard of accuracy minded shooters along with BAT actions.

Thanks for posting this. I am confused though on the f-open list for the cartridges. There seems to be two bars for each cartridge. What does this mean?

Also, I thought from reading other forums, that the 6 Dasher was the darling of the 1,000 yards shooters?

Maybe he meant Precision Rifle and Tool, or for F-open, A.K.A, the Lowboy stock.

Actually, I wrote down Lowboy on the list, which is what I initially was going to use, but actually ended up shooting a Masterclass stock.

HammerHead stocks were created by Henry Pasqet(SP) and are made by Shirley Bros and Precision Tool.

The 6 Dasher is the darling of 1000 yard group shooters and those requiring small groups.
In the competition posted the target gets pulled down and spotted between each shot so corrections can be made and the 10 ring is 10 inches on a target that is about 6 foot square.

In Benchrest nobody gets to see there hits once you get your record target and the 10 ring is 30% smaller. At 600 yards the 10 ring is under 3 inches and to shoot the smallest group you will need to be sub 1 inch.

HammerHead stocks were created by Henry Pasqet(SP) and are made by Shirley Bros and Precision Tool.

The model that was represented at Berger's under Shurly Bros was the Lowrider XL and the Spear of Destiny stocks, not the hammerhead. 3" wide stocks are the max for us.

Hey Bsumoba - how many barrel tuners did you see at the SWN? I"ve been reading more and more about centerfire tuners and people "tuning with the tuner" instead of "tuning with charge weight".

I would say that there were about 5 or 6 that I saw.

I thought about doing it, but opted not to go that direction for the mere fact that I can tune with charge weights and seating depth just as easily.

I know people say that they can then adjust it to match the conditions, but out of all the people using tuners, I have only heard of one guy that really touches it during matches. Most seem to set it during load development and forget it.

And the second most used action (in Open) at the BSWN was.....the Remington 700.

Yeah, putting 20 into 10" over 20 minutes of wind changes is so easy, anybody can do it!
