In the first 30 seconds it says this is for factory barrels and not Benchrest!!!!!

The reason for that is 99 and 44/100 percent of shooters won't be able to tell the difference because there guns are not very accurate to begin with.

As to the whole Gale McMillan post he was suing Bill Wiseman at the time as they were jointly selling barrels and had a dispute and split up the business.
Anyone who shot with him knows he cleaned his barrels more in a single day than most here will clean in a year.

Factory barrels are best used as tomato stakes to keep your plants from falling over.

As for the accuracy thing, according to what he says, it was contrary. You will see a much bigger difference doing break in procedures in factory barrels than the more expensive ones, which makes sense.

But overall, his summation was that break ins are not a necessary procedure because the difference is "very very very small" between a broken in barrel and a non-broken in barrel when compared to all the other factors of shooting.

...because those people are more likely to be shooting a MASS PRODUCED barrel.

Here is the first FIVE rounds at 100yds through a Bartlein barrel I put on a rifle a couple weeks ago:



The lone round at the bottom was shot #1.
The 4 above it are shots number 2-3-4-5.

The virgin barrel was "broken in" just fine after one shot.
