+1 for Schuler brake. Had a surefire muzzle brake mb762 for my R700 308. My Rifle would hop. I tried to change firing position clocking the brake. Nothing work. Then I switched to Schuler brake and now the recoil is like shooting my ar15 and I can spot my own shots.

Do your hunting buddies a favor and do not run a muzzle brake on a hunting gun. I guarantee you when shooting at game, you will not notice recoil nor will you remember it. I shoot 300 win mag light rifle. Can not remeber feeling recoil anytime I shot at game. Bench shooting is different and for that muzzle brake is useful, but 300 win mag is not a round for punching paper. I usually check mine every hunting season 3 rounds and call it done. I hunted with one dude that had a muzzle brake on 30-06 and we all hated to be around him....

Or just go custom. SAS Tactical made this one for me for my 338 RUM. 1 week turn around time!!

I've tested several 30 cal muzzle brakes for my 300 win mag and ended up with Gen II Fat bastard.

American Precision Arms manufactures high end tactical, target, and hunting rifles, as well as the most popular muzzle brakes in long range competition. Known for having the best muzzle brakes, scope rings, trigger guard, bottom metal and most accurate rifles in the industry.

                Here's a decent demonstration with 338.

What the hell for on a hunting rifle? Muscle up and use that oversized caliber for that 180 lb deer .
