I have one and yes it's a good mount. You will have to butcher your receiver and some members here will lynch you for doing that, but its your rifle so do as you please. Make sure you install it carefully. I've seen some that are off centered.

It's a solid mount. You won't be disappointed. The steel is hard as heck so make sure to drill a pilot hole if you can so the drill bit don't walk when drilling through the receiver.

Seems like it would be better money spent on a better weapon.

$40 is a fair price, not much for hacking up mil-surp but it's a Mosin so like... What the heck.

Actually it is a good mount but needs modification to install.

The mount matl ( alum) is soft and does not contact some receivers sufficiently (due to polishing/refurb) and the bearing surfaces can collapse due to small contact area.

After drilling and tapping receiver, polish mount area with shoe polish, then rough up base with some 600 grit crocus cloth and clean with acetone, shoe polish mount screws, buy a good two part epoxy(with metal filler) and epoxy under base and snug up base to receiver, do not overtighten.

W&en epoxy has cured clean screws and screw holes with Q-tips and acetone, now apply blue/red loctited and snug up screws.

The epoxy supports the small contact area of base and it will not collapse under heavy recoil

Listen up to this. He has been 'round the horn with these rifles.

Let us know how your mount works.
I don't have the talent to start drilling on rifles, correctly, myself.

ATI mount works fine and hold zero in 4 Mosins that I have, including the round and hexagon receiver. The trick is to bed (fill up) the little gap between the mount and the receiver with JB weld to eliminate any movement. Very simple to bed that little area. Also use lock tite on the screws.

I use Kiwi clear shoe paste polish as a release agent. It works like a charm in the action and the scope mount area. Then I use acetone to clean it.
