Recently sent my 30-30 pig rifle off for some action work, Marlin coordinated through Mann & Son out of Illinois. While it was there I had them install a "big loop" lever to accommodate my chubby gloved hands on those chilly mornings. Looks good, can't wait to get to the range to test!

Sounds like a nice gun, too bad we can't see itRecently sent my 30-30 pig rifle off for some action work, Marlin coordinated through Mann & Son out of Illinois. While it was there I had them install a "big loop" lever to accommodate my chubby gloved hands on those chilly mornings. Looks good, can't wait to get to the range to test!
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
Happiness is a warm gun.

here ya go!
Hey, you guys are not subtle... Added a couple pics... I'm happy w/ how it turned out. Also, the whole deal was great - end to end took only 3 weeks. The folks at Marlin were cool, explained that jobbing it out would be quicker, gave me a work order to reference (for pricing) and pointed me to Mann & Son. Those boys were all about customer service, and when they called to confirm the work, I inquired about adding a big loop, they said $50 installed... No brainer, I accepted. It was back in my hands 3 days later.Numbers to LIVE by... 22, 38, 9, 357, 44, 45, 5.56, 7.62x39, 30-30, 308, 30-06, 12Comment

Man, I wish I could find a 30-30 with the straight stock. The first requisite of a good citizen in this republic of ours is that he shall be able and willing to pull his weight.Comment

Not so big...
Actually, the ones I've seen in Brownells for the Marlins seem bigger... The loop runs more from the rear of the trigger guard:

On mine, the loop actually starts near the front and loops back, a little more compact... Plus that Brownells one is $$!
Mines is closer to this:

Ooh, a Glenfield 30GT.Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

That loop is ugly but looks very ergonomic. I would "Rifleman spin" that gun haha. Looks like a great shooter OP. Thanks for the heads up on Mann & Son.Comment

Looks Good! I had a 336 in the late 70's and stupidly sold it.--------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome....
Yeah, finding the wood for a genuine Marlin (JM barrel) is difficult.
What I did was buy a Champion Plastic stock kit from MidwayUSA.
Not the same as wood......haha. But it does make the Rifle lighter in weight and doesn't scratch.

May the Bridges I burn light the way.

I've been shooting my marlin 336 Big Loop lately. The more I shoot it, the more I like it.sigpic
