Oh, I agree that a calculator to store the offsets is something that's highly desired if you have a number of different barrels and loads.

Then, if one gets a DT, he is pretty much compelled to spend decent money on a scope. You need a scope that's good for a wide variety of uses and future uses. Folks start with a common cartridge like a 308 or 6.5, but they are eventually going to get the Lapua conversion kit since it is so easy to incrementally add.

You are absolutely correct. I have an issue with waiting, so after I got the DT I jumped right into the best scope I could afford, with the best rings I could afford. I had convinced myself that the rifle would be fine with the scope I had on-hand for a little while when I purchased the rifle; Once it got here however... I just got excited and blew right past my budget without even stopping. Now I just need to save for my next barrel.

To be honest, reading Brando and JMP's posts on the DT are what convinced me to stop waiting for the best deal and just go for it. Couldn't be more pleased with the rifle. I just wish I had more time to shoot it.

Well I want to thank everyone for the great input! I closed a deal on an all FDE SRS A1 Covert with the 308 conversion, fde pelican, and torque wrench for $3800 to my FFL. I felt like it was a pretty fair deal. Hopefully I'll be updating with good results and lots of shooting!
