    Scope base and rings recommendation

Looking for some advice. I'm new to bolt guns. Just picked up a Remington 7005R .308 in December. Also just ordered a Vortex Razor HD 5-20x50 scope today. I'd like to get into some precision rifle shooting. I'll be shooting at Sac Valley with the ultimate goal of hitting 1000 yards. What base/rings combo will I need?
Do I need a 20 MOA base with that scope?
    Aluminum or steel?
What rings and what height are best for the above goal.

    Thank you!

20 MOA base should be plenty I shoot my .308 out to 1000 and don't feel shorted with adjustments. I bought an EGW because I was on a budget at the time. Looked to upgrade to a PTG but honestly haven't felt the need. For the money the EGW has performed flawlessly. I like aluminum bases and rings, it meshes better with an aluminum scope and is softer on the receiver of your rifle.

For rings I went Seekins Precision and have been happy. I have an 50mm lens with a 34mm tube and opted for the 1.26" which is a little higher above the bore than it needs to be but gives my hand a little more clearance with the bolt in the back.
