I bought a Rem 783 in .223 last year after verifying with Remington that it was indeed a 1 in 9" twist rate. I also checked it with the cleaning rod and tight patch test and was 1 in 9.

Like I said in my post..."Remington as an example has a 1-14 twist in most of their rifles...." Not all of them.

Don't slap yourself too hard. Some people might like to have the twist rate verified on a particular rifle as opposed to some meaningless general comment.

I'm thinking of buying one just wanted some feedback on what alternative there is for a $350 price point.

I bought one and I'm not impressed. The grouping using Remington Core Lokt wasn't very impressive past 100 yards and the trigger is very stiff.
