    Kimber mountain ascent

Does anyone know of any shops that stock the Kimber Mountain Ascent rifles? I want to get one in my hands before I buy one.

I bought mine from guns fishing and other stuff in Dublin. They didn't have it there but the Vacaville store had it and I had already felt one before so I made them transfer it from there. If your willing to drive up to Redding they have em at old west pawn shop off of market. They also carry the Adirondack model also.

What Cal. Did you go with? I've been seeing mixed reviews about how they shoot. I'll call the place in Dublin, I'm in the Bay Area right now

            Mmmm, I'd love a mountain-scented Kimber.

I had to read the title twice haha.

Honestly it's doesn't shoot as good as my sako finnlight but the purpose of this gun is its comfort to carry. And to be fair it a really light gun to hold steady. It does shoot good enough to hunt with up to 2-300 yards.

Hand loads or factory ammo? Can you get it to shoot MOA? I just called the place in Dublin and will be stopping by there to get my hands on one.

I'm only shooting factory loads. It shoots sub moa with factory hornady ssts. It's just harder to shoot with when you don't have a bench that's all.

But for its weight it shoots real nice. Low recoil and good feel. It's a tiny rifle though so if your a big guy maybe it won't fit as nice.

5'11" 200# want a rifle for backpack hunts that is lighter than my A-bolt 7mm mag. I'm not opposed to a lightweight bipod, but do want something that'll reach out to 700-800 yards when I need it to. I'm looking at the .300wsm

I don't think they make magnum calipers in this model. You may have to go with the regular kimber montana

you should check out the Christensen arms rifle they have there also. The last time I was there they had a 7mag. Carbon barrel built off a custom action weighed like 6lbs. Remi Warren uses one on solo hunter.
