addicted to shooting my Rem700

last weekend.. rain poured all over my Rem700 SPS Tactical on the first time out. even shooting at 50yds was fun, although only shot 20rds.

today.. took her out to 100yds at metcalf, got her sighted in (still need to adjust for elevation) and had 75rds of good fun.









still need a lot more on my part and getting use to the recoil. very different from my CZ455...

I've been in the AR world for awhile now and only months ago did I get my first bolt-action. Month later I bought another and now I'm looking to drop some coin on a nice build; I'm hooked!

The rabbit hole is deep, and I've only just touched the surface. I'll get into reloading starting next year (you will too!) and I'll learn long range shooting as I continue.

kwikvette: yea definitely will look into reloading. my friend has the same R700 but he had it many years ago. i've shoot some of his reloads and damn.. the grouping is a whole lot better.

what kind of build are you looking to do? i'm saving up and next year will change out the stock and put in a timney 517 trigger.

Burris XTR Rings 1 Inch Medium 420181 + Weaver Extended Multi-Slot Base - Remington SA 20MOA.

See that's where I'm not exactly sure; all I know is when I build it I want to take every equation out of the picture (minus the nut behind the trigger, that'll take some time!).

I'm between a .308 and 6.5 once I determine I can begin shooting long range.

One of my BA is all stock and the other is in a chassis.

yea i thought about getting a .308 for long range shooting.. but then again.. since i mainly shoot at metcalf.. the longest is only 200yds, hence i picked the .223 version.

where would you go for 500+yds?

Sac Valley;

my factory stock Savage is chambered in .223 and with that rifle I fell in love with the accutrigger. 1 moa with the walmart Federal 55 grain; with Winchester match that shrinks to 1/2 moa at 100 yards. Sits on a Harris bipod with a VX2 3-9x optic.
