Twice now the screw in the fore end band has sheared off. The last time the screw only lasted about 100 rounds. Anybody else have this happen?

Marlin 336 problem

Is this a new production Marlin?
I have had that same issue - also twice. I have twice called Marlin (Remington) and received free replacement screws.
Make sure the wood forearm is completely seated into the receiver and don't wrench the band screw too tight The screws are cheap metal. It's a oddly designed screw - the threads are near the screw head instead of at the opposite end. -
I have a few 336s and never had that happen. I can't even think of what would cause it.
How old is your gun? Are you on Marlin Owners forums? You should ask over there.Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.
