After a few years of eating for Marlin to get its act together, I just DROS'ed a Rossi 20" blued .357. It was $500 OTD from Davidson's (on sale).
It cycled smoothly with dummy rounds in the store, and wood/metal fit was better than I expected. My only gripe was some black paint or oil in the end grain of the wood. I'll likely refinish the stock.
If it shoots well, I think this is a good price for a handy carbine.
