    NorCal URSA Update 11-22

Well the 30 caliber conspiracy ruled the roost today at 2054 yards.
Shaun Brady bested yours truly in the first match and Dan Applied Ballistics Bertochini bested Billy The Kidd Souza and Ken Eng in the second match.
Conditions were very good but the hit counts were not as good as usual with Dan Bertochini being the only shooter with 5 hits on his record target.
We had a full dozen shooters and lots of bystanders as well.
I had only heard from two shooters prior to today's event but when I arrived on the shooting line both sides of the road were full of vehicles.
Congratulations to Shaun Brady and Dan Bertochini on your 30 caliber conspiracy wins today.

Dan "Applied Ballistics" Bertochini, I love it! We just call him "AB" for short.

Yeah it was a great day to shoot.
Shakey was there hammering the gong with his 50 caliber today and the weather was just about perfect.
If you sat on a drummers throne and wrote down hits/misses it got a little cold but by 10AM it was actually pretty nice out.
I think the mirage was just bad enough that it cancelled out quite a few hits.
After the match when we went to retrieve the gong there were bullets all around it on the ground.
The ground was damp and this made spotting hits a tough job.

Looks like you had a great match. Sorry I missed it. Did Ken get his base fixed or was he holding UNDER again?

            Great shoot!

Weird to see the pics knowing that you are on the top of the mountain. Lynn, next time please take a pic of the lake so folks can see the height (looking down rather than up).

Interesting to see what appears to be a Hensoldt sitting on top of fairly low buck Safety Harbor. A re-barrel or the original barrel?

Looking forward to adding Dan to the stats page, once I get the paperwork (hint, hint)

Ken had his base all figured out and had two out of his first three qualifier rounds on the gong when a forestry truck stopped the shooting. After it passed it took 4-5 more rounds before he connected again and qualified.
The ground was not wet but it had rained and made spotting the missed almost impossible in the early morning.
I am starting to think a 11 AM shoot is in our future but we didn't bug out until 2:30-3:00 PM and it was dark when I finally got home.

My new printer turned the liability releases into two pages some how so I will staple them together and get them sent off shortly.
We had several shooters show up and watch or this could have been our biggest match with 15 shooters.
I have the 338 SnipeTac finished and if my dies show up I will make the Barstow match in December.

That's a Razor Gen II on a Ferret 50DTC, following the 50/50 rule for optic value to rifle value. Standard 562 chamber on a 29" barrel right now, I have a 36" 554 neck hybrid LW barrel on order.

Actually, I'm talking about the second rifle up from the bottom of the pic...scope is tan, not a Ferret chassis.
