Thanks for responding. I've been doing research on Calguns and gunbroker but I'm getting a large disparity in pricing. Some of these guns aren't available in California and therefore sales in Nevada, for example, may not reflect how much they sell for in CA. Also, prices on Calguns often get replaced with "sold".

I actually have estimates for all but one of the 20 guns. But when I posted elsewhere, but some users said my estimates were too high, some said too low and I've heard that they're perfect. So by posting on a California gun forum, I hoped to get some accurate prices.

What's a new 700 about $600? A new VX-2 3-9x40 about $290? Total $890 new. Then you'd have to deduct from there based on how much it was used.

I had assumed about $750 for the gun with scope. Is that reasonable for a gun that's in pretty good condition?

If I wasn't in a hurry to sell, I'd start high. You can always drop price if it's not selling fast enough.

You can ask that.
It will probably take a long time to sell if it ever does.
A 700 sps is worth $400 on the used market.
Used optics are usually worth half of the new price, so figure $150 for the scope.
If you want it to sell in a reasonable time, start your asking price at $600 for the scoped 700.

Register on gunbroker, it's free. Then you can search sold items. Unsold items obviously tell you nothing.

Why would you care where the sales come from? If they sell for more in Texas than Cali, put it on gb and sell it to someone in Texas. About the only time you get a price advantage selling in Cali is with handguns.

I do not understand this. At all. All of those guns are used, and all of them are available new and used in California. They are found on Gun Broker, and that is irrespective of state lines.

He was checking on handguns too. He just didn't list them in this section, they were listed in handgun section. Plus the JM marked Marlins are no longer for sale new.

You might also check with Limbsaver on that recoil pad on the 700. If it is a Limbsaver pad, they had some bad material supplied to them and Limbsaver replaced the pad on my Tactical 1100 for free. They sent me a new pad and I sent them my old one. The bad pad was tacky to the touch and too soft. Dirt, dead grass, etc all stuck to it.
