    Sounds like whomever cut the flutes didn't do a very good job if it left the edges sharp enough to cut you. Don't blame the flutes. Blame the fluter.

      This top picture is my hunting rifle.
      It is not heavy but it has a 1.2 ounce Bix&Andy trigger Krieger barrel with a tight neck chamber and will shoot sub 3/8 inch 5 shot groups with a rookie Shooter using it.
      It is a repeater and it feeds ammo without a hiccup.

      Berger bullets made for target shooting work very well on game animals due to there thin jackets.
      Most target shooters prefer the Berger VLD Hunting bullets because the thinner jacketed bullets tend to outshoot there newer thick jacketed bullets.
